“Data Centres are not all the same” says BT Data Centre Consultant ahead of panel debate
Newport, South Wales - 18 November 2013: This week’s “Are data centres a commodity – why your data centre provider matters” panel debate on 20th November at DatacenterDynamics Converged London has attracted further comment from the panel members taking part.
Commenting on the panel event which is being hosted by data centre operator Next Generation Data (NGD) in Hall 4 at 12.40pm, BT Data Centre Consultant Willie McBrearty said: “There could be a lot riding on where you house your IT systems as your company’s future or even its very existence could be at stake, as well as your own livelihood. Common sense dictates that you check out every aspect of a data centre before you opt to install your equipment in it or buy services provided from it. Data centres are not all the same.”
He will be joined on the panel by NGD’s CEO Nick Razey, Wipro Technologies’ Roy White, Practice Head Data Centre Large Deals EMEA, and Bengt Höjer, Corporate Product Manager Cloud, UNIT4.
Commenting on the debate theme Richard Cole, UNIT4 Business Software’s Head of Cloud Sales added, “Data centres are like any other investment - there are varying standards out there and care needs to be exercised. Their credentials around security, disaster recovery and the environment all need to be assessed before making a decision about which one to use.”
NGD will also be exhibiting at DatacenterDynamics Converged London: Stand 26.
