NGD’s sponsorship and attendance at last week’s DatacenterDynamics Converged London was a great success. Not only was the NGD sales team kept busy throughout both days with visitors to the stand, the NGD sponsored panel debate entitled, “Are Data Centres a Commodity – Why Your Data Centre Provider Matters” was attended by around a hundred delegates.
These enjoyed a thought provoking discussion between the panel members, featuring NGD’s CEO Nick Razey and representatives from customers BT, WIPRO and UNIT4, covering a variety of considerations and factors that influence the purchase of outsourced data centre services. Having mulled over such issues as power availability, security levels, resilience, scalability, pricing and flexibility of service contracts, the panel were unanimous in agreeing that data centres are indeed not all the same and far from being a commodity.

Commented Nick Razey, “This was NGD’s debut at a DatacenterDynamics event and based on our experience of Converged London we will be taking part again next year. Attendance appeared to be good as we were kept busy with plenty of networking opportunities - with existing, as well as potential, customers and suppliers.”
